This week was a beautiful example of community spirit in action!
Local Abundance Blooms:
Noi and I had the pleasure of visiting Paula and Allan, the inspiring duo behind Local Abundance by Paula Dawes. Their generosity shines through as they open their yard to neighbours, sharing their knowledge and passion for gardening. The vibrant space buzzed with activity as residents learned and connected. Witnessing this dedication to sustainability and community was truly awe-inspiring. Paula even thoughtfully placed a collection tub for NWCG – a heartfelt gesture that we deeply appreciate!
Sharing the Bounty:
After collecting fresh fruit, bread, and drinks from Coles, we delivered the majority to our friends at the Community Union Defence League – Queensland. Their dedication to providing free Sunday dinners at Musgrave Park nourishes both bodies and spirits. The remaining items found a home at Community Plus+ West End Community House, ensuring broader community support.
Stories of Transformation:
We also reconnected with the couple we assisted with a tent yesterday. The stark difference in their demeanour was remarkable! A good night's sleep in the privacy of their own space had a profound impact. This powerful reminder of how donations directly translate to improved lives fuels our continued efforts.
Thank You for Making a Difference:
From Paula's inspirational project to the generosity of our donors, each contribution strengthens the fabric of our community. Together, we can continue to foster connection, sustainability, and support for those in need.
