A Week of Triumph, Teamwork, and the Power of Kindness

A Collaborative Food Run & A Success Story:

This week's food run was a team effort! Chris joined me for the first time at the new Coles location – a smooth transition thanks to a quick orientation. The bounty of bread we acquired necessitated deliveries to three locations.

Our first stop was Musgrave Park, where we distributed a delightful mix of sweet and savoury treats. There, I had the heartwarming privilege of encountering a lady we've been supporting for some time. Thrilled to share that she secured housing last week! Overcome with joy, she expressed her sincere gratitude for our assistance, specifically mentioning Noi's life-saving kindness during a particularly difficult time. Noi's simple act of checking in and offering support made a profound impact, reminding us that genuine care often outweighs material provisions.

Sharing the Abundance:

Following our heartwarming encounter, we delivered the remaining mountains of bread to Community Plus+ West End Community House, Max Chandler-Mather, Federal MP for Griffith's office, and Hotel Brunswick pantries.

A Huge Thank You to Chris:

I'm incredibly grateful to Chris for his ongoing dedication. His commitment extends beyond the weekly food run, as he continues to play a vital role in transporting items for Next Step Connect and assisting with dump runs. He's an absolute legend!

This week serves as a potent reminder of the power of collaboration, the triumph of individuals overcoming challenges, and the transformative potential of small acts of kindness. Thank you, Chris, for your invaluable support, and a huge congratulations to our friend on securing housing!
