At Northwest Community Group, we're incredibly fortunate to have dedicated volunteers like Kim Liddell on our team. Kim's commitment extends far beyond her regular weekly volunteer hours at Streetlight. For the past few weeks, she's tirelessly gone above and beyond, inspiring us all.
Fuelled by Compassion & Personal Experience:
Kim's dedication stems from a deeply personal place. She has lived through the harsh realities of homelessness firsthand. Sharing her story, she says: "I was homeless too with no help 7 years ago. Resulting in an overdose and life support then locked in a mental hospital for a week. There were more hospital stays after that. It's been a long hard road."
Kim understands the profound impact of having a safe and comfortable place to sleep. This knowledge fuels her tireless efforts.
Going Above & Beyond: A Heart of Gold:
Over the last few weeks, Kim has spearheaded a community donation drive, collecting essential items for those at Musgrave Park. Her dedication doesn't stop there – she's even generously invested her own money to create bedding packs for everyone living there.
