Tonight was a whirlwind of tent deliveries, highlighting the incredible support network we've built!
The Need for New Shelters
The day started with a call from Musgrave Park – a couple of young people needed tents after theirs were damaged by rain (not tents we provided). With my usual stock depleted and a BCF order pending, I contacted them on a whim. Thankfully, 10 new tents awaited!
Teaming Up for Maximum Impact
Kim Liddell, who generously creates bedding sets for those in need, joined me for this massive undertaking. Her help was invaluable!
Delivering Tents and Warm Meals
Picking up food, we headed to Kurilpa Point Park, setting up a tent for someone waiting. At Musgrave Park, three new tents went up quickly. Learning about Grill'd Wintergarden's free food event, I treated Carla, a regular we support, to a warm meal. Back at Musgrave Park, another tent was needed (stay tuned for the story!), followed by one for someone else. Finally, we journeyed back to Kurilpa to set up a tent for a man waiting there (pictured).
Seven tents delivered in one night – an incredible feat! We finished by restocking pantries before heading home around 11 pm.
