Preparing for a Big Weekend:
This evening served as a semi-night off in preparation for our exciting Northwest Fundraising Day this weekend! We picked up essential food items from Coles.
Extending a Helping Hand in Keperra:
Following our grocery run, I visited a kind gentleman living rough in Keperra. We went to Woolworths, where I purchased a gift voucher to offer him some additional support. Our conversation revealed a truly deserving individual who wasn't looking for handouts, only basic necessities. We'll share more about his story in the future.
Supporting Our Partners at Musgrave Park:
Next stop was Musgrave Park, where we dropped off the collected food with our friends at Anti-Poverty Network QLD. Their Friday night program provides meals and a welcoming space for social interaction. They'll ensure any remaining food reaches the Community Plus+ West End Community House pantry.
Recognition & Gratitude:
We received a heartwarming letter from the Office of Fair Trade today, accompanied by our official certificate. This recognition is a testament to the dedicated efforts of everyone involved. A big thank you to all our supporters, volunteers, and those engaging with our posts – your contributions are invaluable in helping us achieve our goals!
A Delightful Culinary Surprise:
Noi and I capped off the evening with a fantastic dinner at THAI YASO in Enogerra. This hidden gem is undoubtedly one of the best Thai restaurants we've experienced in recent times. Intrigued by our server's ethnicity, Noi engaged in conversation, only to discover he wasn't Thai but Karen. For those familiar with the beautiful people of Northern Thailand and Myanmar, this encounter was a delightful surprise.
