Northwest Fundraising Day was a resounding success! We're incredibly grateful to everyone who came out and showed their support. The outpouring of kindness truly blew us away. While we wish we could have connected with everyone individually, the kind words and encouragement meant the world to us.

We're thrilled to announce that the event raised a phenomenal $7,657! A Story of Strength & Resilience:
A special highlight of the day was Lisa's powerful speech. Although she missed many attendees due to timing, her courage in sharing her experience at Musgrave Park and how our organization provided support is truly inspiring. We're incredibly proud of her for stepping forward, and we wanted to ensure everyone could hear her message.
Responding to a Call for Help:
Unfortunately, the day ended on a somber note. One of the young residents at Musgrave Park, a 22-year-old woman, was assaulted while charging her phone. This heartbreaking event served as a stark reminder of the challenges faced by those experiencing homelessness. We were able to provide immediate assistance by setting up a tent for her in a safer location.
A Call for Compassion:
It's deeply disturbing that individuals outside the Musgrave Park community are causing these issues. These attacks further victimize those already struggling. We urge everyone for empathy and understanding. The residents deserve to feel safe and secure. We hope for a swift resolution to these incidents.
Beyond the Fundraising Day:
Our work extends beyond the event itself. We continued our bread deliveries this week, visiting Annerley Baptist Church, Community Plus+ locations in West End and Yeronga, as well as the Brunswick Hotel. We're encouraged by the positive feedback and aim to continue supporting these important community hubs.
