Mobile Outreach Worker
About the Role:
As a Mobile Outreach Leader at Northwest Community Group Inc., you will play a crucial role in providing essential support and services to individuals experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness in the Brisbane area. A key aspect of this role involves setting up tents for individuals in need of temporary shelter.
Key Responsibilities:
Outreach and Engagement:

Working in a team, actively engage with individuals experiencing homelessness in various locations, such as parks, streets, and shelters.

Build rapport and establish trust with individuals to understand their needs and concerns.

Conduct outreach activities, including erecting tents, welfare checks, and food drop off.
Tent Setup and Maintenance:

Set up tents in designated areas, ensuring they are secure and weather-proof.

Set up airbeds and bed packs in tents.

Monitor previous tents, as well as monitor communications from BCC regarding possible tent removals.

​Qualifications and Skills:

Strong commitment to helping individuals experiencing homelessness.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to build rapport and trust with diverse individuals.

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Physical fitness to set up and maintain tents.

Able to commit to at least 1 shift (4 hours) per fortnight.
